Composition: Composition is always important in a painting. I designed this painting with a clear focal point being the 2 pink flowers. The other 2 mini white flower sticks on the right were carefully placed so that the eye of the viewer moves slowly from the pink flowers to the white flowers before coming back to the jar. This created a beautiful sense of visual interest of the eye keeping the viewer’s attention on the flowers and the jar.

Technical Skills: In realism paintings, attention to detail is crucial. In this painting, I painted the background v thinly and with muted colors. The pink flowers were made chromatic as they are the focal point of the painting. The lights were painted thickly in this painting to add more depth. I used pure sables for the jar and flowers and painted the background with bristle brushes and long flats.

Symbolism and Emotions: This painting featuring a jar of flowers highlights the beauty found in life's everyday simplicity, demonstrating that even the most ordinary things can possess a profound, peaceful charm. Through this artwork, I aimed to emphasize the serene allure of such overlooked elements in our lives. The composition and style of the piece draw significant inspiration from the works of Henry Fantin Latour, an artist I greatly admire. In this painting, I have studied and recreated the background elements characteristic of Latour's art, infusing them with a contemporary, modern touch.
