EMOTION IN EVERY STROKE… PAINTING EMOTIONS.
I am inspired by my surroundings, by flowers, by music or by ideas that already are in my mind. I create free flowing composition that convey an ideal of beauty. My artworks are abstract and are characterized by a vibrant colour palette. The strokes juxtaposition create a layered texture that gives movement to the canvas surface enticing the eye of the viewers. My creativity leads me to experiment with different techniques and media. Abstraction allow me to focus on the elements, such as texture, structure and colors.
As a mixed-media artist, I work across acrylic, oil, pastels, and alcohol inks.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Seema Ahuja was born in India and she currently lives in Singapore. Seema’s influences include traveling in her youth as her father was an Army officer; and as her mother was an art enthusiast and a decorator she was surrounded by art and design. The army stations she visited were her first art galleries as she created pieces to decorate the many common areas.
Seema has trained with Master Artist, Jane Montieth in Canada and has also attended Abstract art classes at NAFA in Singapore. She has shown her work at the Affordable Art Fair and the Global Art Fair in Singapore. She also has a diploma in Textile Design and Printing.
Her work has been commissioned and displayed in corporate offices of an Oil & Gas; and Shipping company in Singapore.
