SWATI SINGH
EXPLORING NATURE’S VIBRANCE THROUGH ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM
ARTIST STATEMENT
Any walk through the parks or reserves in Singapore exposes you to a riot of colors, textures, and forms. The growl of the oriental pied hornbill is interspersed with the ‘uwu’ call of the Asian Koel. The whites and pinks of the rain tree compete with the yellows of the Angsana, each contributing its own unique feature and enhancing the overall experience. My paintings embody the vibrant yet peaceful spirit of Singapore’s tropical landscape, celebrating its rich biodiversity and the calmness it offers amidst the hustle and bustle of urban life.
The greens and blues in the painting evoke lush vegetation and tranquil waters, while the pops of yellow, red, and orange hint at the exotic flowers and fruits. The fluidity and movement within the pieces suggest the constant motion of nature and the bustling life within the rainforest. I aim to capture the balance and harmony, much like nature itself—effortlessly flowing with shapes, sounds, and colors, yet never overwhelming the senses.

Dreams are fragile. Dreams are fleeting. Dreams are real. Dreams are what keeps us awake during the day. Dreams are what keeps us sleeping through the night. Dreams are the stories we are afraid to tell anyone. Dreams are the stories we want to live someday. Dreams are life! To not dreams is to not live at all. Cheers to all the dreamers out here.

The work is deeply influenced by immersion in natural environments, observing the ongoing cycle of growth and decay, as well as the interplay between continuity and disruption. It embraces the notion that the essence of life lies in an ever-changing and fluid journey, where nothing remains permanent or fixed. This perspective celebrates the ebbs and flows of existence, inviting an appreciation for the creative process and the very essence of life itself.
