Colour and Light: Having chosen an unconventional colour pallete, I believe that black evokes a strong emotional response. Black is commonly associated with intelligence, professionalism and mystery. As a deep and serious colour, it directs communication in a powerful way. I focused on how light interacts with the animal’s form, using highlights and shadows to enhance the portrait’s emotional impact. In addition to different shades of black, I used white for shades and gold for the main highlight.

Mixed Media: In this painting, I applied layers of colours using palette knife to create rough textures and added gold leaves, resin and crushed glass. Gold symbolises what is purest and most valued in terms of human aspirations and self- discovery. The resin and crushed glass is seen as a reflection of what we have learnt, making this piece an avant- garde.

Personal Expression: The wolf evokes a sense of mystery and wildness. This painting is titled Wild at Heart- A Reflection. It is the idea that we all have an innate, untamed aspect of our nature. This might manifest as a desire for freedom, adventure or breaking away from societal norms. Embracing this wild side can lead to personal growth and deeper understanding of ourselves, helping us balance our more conventional or restrained behaviors with our inherent instincts and passions. Inspired by the adventurous soul within, my style of artwork is all about rough textures, sparkles and shines.
