Tell us something about your artwork. What makes it special and one of your favourites?

”Dopeher” is a deeply personal piece that holds a special place in my heart. Created in 2022, during a time of transition and nostalgia, this painting symbolizes the grounding and warmth of my childhood. It is inspired by a real broken lampshade in my grandmother’s pristine garden. Despite its state, my grandmother refused to take it down because a bird had built a nest in it, and the bougainvillea vines had taken root side by side.

Technical Skill:

The technical mastery in “Dopeher” is evident in the realistic portrayal of the bird and the delicate vines. The interplay of light and shadow adds depth and dimension, making the elements appear three-dimensional. The textures of the broken lampshade, the softness of the bird’s feathers, and the vibrant bougainvillea petals are meticulously rendered, enhancing the painting’s realism and emotional depth.

Composition:

The composition of “Dopeher” is carefully balanced, with the broken lampshade and the bird serving as focal points, guiding the viewer’s eye through the painting.
