Use of Colour: A vibrant and richly textured painting depicting a series of red lanterns against neutral background hinting at subtle variations of color and texture with a hazy atmosphere. The use of bold, vivacious colors conveys joy, and the communal spirit typically associated with lantern festivals. The choice to allow the lanterns to dominate the canvas by employing confident, thick brushstrokes evokes a tactile response as if you can feel the textures by sight.

Brush Strokes: Bold, impasto brushstrokes give the lanterns a sense of dimensionality and movement. The preference for expressive brushstrokes over strict realism creates a celebratory mood that captures the energy and warmth of the scene.

Composition: Abstracted figures rendered with minimal detail suggest the presence of people participating in or observing a lantern festival. The juxtaposition of the detailed lanterns against the blurred, almost ghost-like figures adds a layer of depth to the composition, inviting the viewer to focus on the cultural symbol of the lanterns while recognizing the ubiquity of human presence and celebration.
