TAMMY GRAY

TRAVEL STIMULATES ART.

I am an abstract artist. Traveling stimulates my mind and opens my horizon. It gives me inspirations to paint. I have always been interested in architecture and fascinated by the beauty in our natural world. Each moment and every encounter evoke an inner emotion that triggers a response. I capture these unique moments. Some elements merge spontaneously while others clash unexpectedly, yet they can co-exist in one space.

My paintings are not about one specific place or time, but a combination of experiences, emotions, and responses to a journey. My works take the viewers on a journey of intrigue and exploration within their own space.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Tammy’s artistic journey started in the United Kingdom, where she was influenced by the dramatic seasons and landscapes in the Sussex countryside. During her time living near the coast, her artistic focus was drawn to the power and intensity of the sea and the ever changing weather. Later, she relocated to live in multiple countries including Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore where she continued to study art and explore different practices.

While travelling extensively, her interests in architecture and nature are evident in her works where she often captured elements, shapes and colours from her experiences across the different cultures and continents that she has both lived in and visited. Over the last decade, she has gradually evolved from a representational painter to an abstract artist.

Tammy has been exhibiting extensively in England since 2005 and more recently in Singapore. Her works have been collected in the United Kingdom, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore by private collectors.
